The First National Bank
of Kaukauna will hold its grand opening on December 9th. The bank has been
occupying its new quarters at the corner of Main Avenue and Second Street for
several weeks. The formal opening has been held up until everything was
finished and in "ship-shape" condition, ready for inspection.

Jack Zwick, who is better known in the Milwaukee area as the "Kaukauna Assassin" will fight Burns there next Monday. Zwick has an impressive record of 11 knockouts and is known not as a boxer but a real down-right hard-hitting fighter.
With the new city high school fast taking on
form and almost ready for the roof, and the municipal building completed
Kaukauna has good reason to congratulate itself on carrying through two
splendid projects to a successful consummation.
Jay O. Posson, superintendent of the
city electrical and water department is a tired but happy man and carries his
head high these days for he has at last realized the dream of years, materialized
in the handsome municipal administration building that is a credit to the
community.

The Kaukauna basketball
team handily won Wrightstown 36 to 2 points. Ott and Ristau had no trouble in
capturing baskets and Hovde was a tower of strength at center.
Jack Zwick turned everything his way Monday
night at the Empress theatre in Milwaukee. Having stopped Bill Burns two weeks
past in the seventh round be duplicated the feat but only took four rounds to
accomplish it this time.
December 28, 1922
Chief McCarty arrested
three men on charges of drunken driving over the weekend. Each man was given a
sentence of thirty days in the county workhouse.
Last Friday night thirty chicken and a goose
were stolen from the Sturm meat market on Lawe Street by someone who apparently
wanted a Christmas dinner more than they cared to enjoy a peaceful
conscience.
