For today’s trip Bonnie Hietpas will be sitting in the

The City of Kaukauna is in mourning today following
the sudden death early Wednesday of its Mayor for more than twenty years,
Joseph "Doty" Bayorgeon, 60. Funeral services will be held at 11:15
a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Flags are half-mast throughout the city until after the funeral, and stores
will be closed Saturday during the funeral. Doty Bayorgeon took pride in the
accomplishments of every Kaukauna citizen, mourned in each of their sorrows and
helped them in troubles. He was
particularly concerned about the youth of this community. Mayor Bayorgeon had a
deep concern for every detail concerning Kaukauna and its people, and took a
great amount of responsibility in all events or occurrences in this city. In
his efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency, Bayorgeon, pushed the recreation
program in the city, feeling that keeping young people busy was the best way to
prevent it. The development of the "Doty" Bayorgeon Recreation Area
in the vicinity of the swimming pool and athletic fields was a major
accomplishment of his time. That it was named for him during his lifetime is an
unusual tribute. Joseph "Doty" Bayorgeon will be greatly missed be
Kaukauna and its people.”
