Unknown to most residents, 10 to 12 tons of
fine cinders are falling on Kaukauna every day as a result of a power failure
of the recovery unit at the Thilmany mill. While the cinder shower was not
noticed by most people over the past 10 days due to the motor failure 120 tons
of cinders have covered the area. The unit is currently under repair.
In the late 1890’s and early 1900’s a number of
amateur baseball teams played Sunday ball for the sheer fun of the sport. The
boys worked hard all week long in factories or fields. The five Kaukauna teams
included the Kaukauna Outlaws, the Colts, the Brewers, the Dodgers and the
Crescents.

For the first half it looked as though Antigo

his charges at half time that a 7-0 lead wasn’t enough, they promptly added a
score in the third and fourth quarter to salt away their opening game, 20-0.
Co-Captain Bob Giordana punched the line like a pile-driver and Pat Lehman
drove into Antigo’s defense with his end sweeps piling up 141 yards.
