July 2, 1974
Kaukauna police are investigating two
burglaries last Friday night. Voet’s Kaukauna Hardware was one of the victims
where a small amount of cash was taken. The second break-in was at Van Lieshout
Motors, damage was done to a filing cabinet, but no money was missing.
Reed Giordana tossed a one hitter in Little
Joe’s 13-1 victory of Bob’s Inn last Thursday.

Cost estimates for the new Wisconsin Avenue
lift bridge will be $2 million dollars.
Kaukauna’s new Municipal Safety Building, the
former Badger Northland building on 2nd street will cost $686,391 to
remodel according to architect plans.
The number of State employees rose again in May
of this year. The increase is 21% in recent years.
July 10, 1974
State Representative William J. Rogers
announced today that he will seek reelection to the Fifth Assembly District.
Rogers was first elected to the Assembly in 1962.

There has been no significant increase of
alcohol involvement in traffic deaths among youthful drivers since Wisconsin’s
legal drinking age was lowered to 18 in 1972 according to data from Health and
Social Services.

Both Kaukauna’s School Board and Library Board
have been asked to consider using the present Municipal Building for needed
services, following an architectural feasibility study on the future use of the
structure.
Charles R. Seaborne, retired executive
vice president of Thilmany Pulp and Paper company, died Monday morning. Funeral
services will be held Wednesday morning

hitter Monday for Joyce’s Bar to dump WKAU by a score of 12-1.

Jerry Conlon, using a three-wood aced the
160-yard par-3 fourth hole at Countryside golf course Saturday.
John A. Koehn, Kaukauna businessman
for more than 3 decades, passed away last Friday follow a brief illness. He and
Argo Simon were partners in the Kuehn and Simon Meat Market. The duel ran the business from 1935 to 1970.
Alan D. Thiede has joined the staff
of Farmers and Merchants Bank as an assistant loan officer.

New construction projects in Kaukauna are going
up almost as fast as in 1973. But the value of those projects is almost 62%
higher than last year, a study of the year has found.
