The Kaukauna Galloping
Ghost Girders were issued their gear last week by the coaching staff at KHS.

The Kaukauna High
School enrollment is expected to reach 740 which is an increase of 20 over last
year's registration.
A team of Phil Haas and Howard Paschen won the
Calcutta tournament at Fox Valley Golf Saturday scoring a net 52 in the 18-hole
handicap best ball event.
The hourly paid employees of the Thilmany Pulp
and Paper company have made pledges to the Kaukauna Community Hospital fund
totaling $23,109.45, according to a report made by L. C. Smith, director of
industrial relations.
One of the features of
the Kiddie Karnival held last week on the library grounds was the crowning of
the royalty for the year from the city playgrounds. The youngsters pictured
after receiving their crowns are left to right Carol Mae Carnot, Dale Sachs,
Jean Ann Van Wychen, Dave Bolte, Peggy Schouten, Butch Anderson, Roberta
Lettau, Mike Flanagan, Barbara Wolf, Melvin Rabideau, Mark Kavanaugh, Susan Reith,
Len Hawley and Delores Weyers.

Six of the club and
class champions of the Fox Vally Golf club posed Monday afternoon after
claiming their crowns. They are from left to right Ed Oliva, Bob Derus, Mrs.
Bob Derus, Mrs. Joseph Gossens, Mrs. Josephine Haupt, and Don Peeters.
Joseph Bayorgeon tells
of tentative plans for the construction of a new city stadium on Dodge Street.
The Mayor envisions a stadium with full toilet and shower facilities,
facilities for refreshment stands and ticket sales booths.
Waiting for the green light from the control
tower for take-off in his FJ2 “Fury” jet fighter is 2nd Lt. Francis
H, Yingling of Kaukauna. He is a member of the Marine fighter Sq 235 at Santa
Ana, Cal.
Stevens Point – Kaukauna once again will play a big
part in the football activities at Central State college. The three
ex-Galloping Ghost were at the workouts this week. Two are veterans, halfback
Gene Noonan and end Ken Roloff. The other is a freshman, Dave Stuiber,
265-pound tackle.
September 17, 1954
The annual exodus of
Kaukauna young people to various colleges and universities in the State and
Nation began last week with a large number going to Madison and the University
of Wisconsin.
Seven girls were
selected to lead the cheers for Kaukauna High School for 1954-’55.
Mary Ellen Ryan, Joan
Weyenberg, Judy Bayorgeon and Lois Frank.
Nancy Nettekoven,
Marilyn Conrad, and Lorelei Kuchelmeister.
The girls were selected Thursday when they
competed with 50 others. The B-squad includes Nancy Mahis, JoAnn Faust, Suzanne
Lewandowski and Carol Siebers.
September 22, 1954
Arrangements were
recently completed for the 105th anniversary of the Hollandtown Schut, one of
the oldest traditions in the area, on Sunday morning.
