The Kaukauna Common Council members earlier
this month gave approval to a city ordinance which would ban horses on streets

and sidewalks near the Kaukauna swimming pool. A letter to Mayor Van De Hey
stated that a section of the Motor Vehicle code gave horsemen the right to use
roadways in the state and the city ban would be in violation of state law.
