Four holes-in-one in
one season . . . two in one day . . .
three in a week! The club house boys at Fox Valley Golf club house call
it “The Tom Bonger’s Story”. Tom, 16, shot this remarkable kind of golf in a
hot streak at season’s end this year.
August 11 – Tom scored an ace on
the 170-yard No. 9.
September 7 – He again fired a
hole-in-one on the No. 9.
September 14 – Tom sank a-hole-in
one on the 175-yard No. 6.
That evening he fired a hole-in-one on No. 9.

Eugene DeBruin of Kaukauna, whose plane was
shot down by communist in Laos several weeks ago, has been reported by Air
America to be alive but a prisoner.
DeBruin,
30, was a crew member of the Air America plane which was shot down by the
Pathet Lao on September 5 in northern Laos. He was one of three Americans aboard
the plane. The Pathet Lao mentioned Eugene’s name last Saturday as the only
survivor.
Senator Nelson (Dem) Wisconsin later
contacted the DeBruin’s and told them the state department was negotiating for
the release of Eugene. No information was available as to whether he was injured.

A collision between two fire trucks in Hollandtown resulted in the deaths of three volunteer firemen. Donald Van Abel, Jerome Van Abel, and Donald Fassbender were victims of the tragic crash.
A
six-point, 127-pound buck, was shot by Cliff Nushart, Tenth Street, last week.
He says this is the first one he has bagged since he first began bow hunting in
1956.
