Kaukauna Girl Scout Troop 323 members are shown
baking cookies at Hartjes Electric as part of the golden anniversary of

Management Club for 1962 are Marvin DeBruin, Secretary; Glen Vandehey, vice
president; John Mau, president; and Bruce Carlson, treasurer.

The Fox River is free
of ice from the lake to Green Bay. This breaks last year’s record of river
openings by about twenty-four days.

Construction has begun
in Kaukauna on a combination church-school building that will be the first unit
of an eventual third parish in the city of Kaukauna. The new $200,000 building
will be put into use next fall as an annex to St. Mary's school, but it will
bear the name of St. Aloysius, the name chosen by Bishop Bona for the parish it
will eventually serve.
Msgr. John J. Sprangers funeral services will
be held at St. John church, Little Chute, where he served for forty years up to
his retirement in 1956. He died at the
age of 88.

Representing the junior
class this year at the 1962 prom will be the duty of John Whitman. JoAnn
Peebles will reign as queen at the festivities on the night of April 27.
Groundbreaking took place last week for the new St.
Aloysius parish school building. Father
Peter Salm turned the first earth. Present at the ceremony were Victor Haen,
trustee; Robert Huelsbeck, general superintendent of Charles Gambsky Company
Inc., general contractors; and Sylvester Schmidt, Architect.
Eagle Scout awards were bestowed on two youths at St. Mary’s
Troop 27 at a recent Blue and Gold Court of Honor. Wallace Mooney, at the left oversaw
the presentations. With their son Tom are Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Cleveland, center,
and with their son, Jared are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DeBruin.
