April 4, 1962
Kaukauna’s Mayor Joseph F. “Doty” Bayorgeon became the “Most Re-elected” mayor the in history of Kaukauna and perhaps in the entire Fox Valley area Tuesday as he was re-elected to his ninth consecutive term in office.
April 13, 1962
A letter of
commendation was presented to Bert Roberts, First Ward alderman upon his
completion of 24 years on the city council. A. M. Schmalz chairman of the Board
of Vocational and Adult Education, made the presentation on behalf of the
Vocational School.
The Veterans’ Honor Roll and memorial is
scheduled to be dismantled, in the near, future to prepare the area for the
construction of the new Kaukauna High School. The name plates will be preserved
for later disposal by the Kaukauna Veterans organizations.
April 20, 1962
An old landmark and a
symbol of bygone age of elegance, is passing from the Kaukauna scene with the
demolition of the one-time Frambach mansion at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue
and Depot Street. Some of the features of the house included a fireplace in
every room on every floor, a music room, a sitting room, dining room, five
bedrooms, sewing room, ballroom, billiard room and a complete stable.
April 25, 1962
On April 28th the Outagamie County Teachers College will celebrate its 50th Anniversary. The school formerly was known as the Rural Normal School and as the Training School.
The baton twirling segment of Saturday’s band
festival. A few practice twirls are tried by the Kaukauna team. The girls left
to right are Barbara Winn, Leone King, Linda Damro, Kathy Bruehl and Karen
Patterson.

1962 Junior Prom Royalty are John Whitman and JoAnn Peebles. The Theme of the event will be “Garden of Dreams”
The Royal Court for the 1962 Junior Prom are
Left to right, Ron Skalmusky and Ricky Vander Velden, of the sophomore class,
Keith Busse and Karen Jansen of the senior class and William Weyenberg and
Sharon Ashauer of the freshman class.
Sporting suits from The Royal Clothing and
ready for the junior prom are Robert Ludke, Thomas Jansen, Don Straus, Dan Van
Dyke and Scott Schuler.
