the country, local naturalist tell you. But they are not common in the back
room of the police stations. Sergeant Charles Arnold of the Kaukauna Police
Department finally succeeded in getting rid of red winged blackbirds that have

bird found its way into the place is a mystery. Arnold finally determined to
get it used, a broom and drove the bird away to parts unknown. Gone is the
jailbird.

The old bowling team gathered again. Whenever people gather to discuss the all-time great bowlers in Kaukauna history, the name Hank Minkebige will inevitably pop up. Minkebige, the “Kingpin of Kaukauna bowlers” earned his nickname through sheer merit. One of his dreams came true back in 1920 when he was one of five members of the Kaukauna team that won the state bowling championship. Left to right Paul Smith, Alan Peterson, Frank Hilgenberg, Hank Minkebige and Bill Johnson.
Tom Verhagen, Kaukauna, Vice President of Larry’s Markets, Inc. was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Association of food dealers.
