November 1, 1923
Two new stores are opening on Kaukauna's south side
this week. Nagan's Coat store opened on Saturday on
The
“Oriole” made its appearance this week in an improved form. The high school
newspaper is now a twelve-page edition. Prentice Hale is the editor in chief of
the paper.
Hugh
J. Mulholland of this city died after
a long illness Sunday afternoon October 28th. Hugh served for
thirty-nine years as clerk of the school board and one time mayor of
Kaukauna.
November 8, 1923
The Rev. W. P. Hulen, pastor of the
Two
cars were damaged in an accident Saturday afternoon on the corner of Wisconsin
Avenue and Desnoyer street. Joseph Gossens failed to see a Ford driven by
Albert Nelson when he was making a turn. The running board on the Nash was
damaged and the Ford was slightly damaged.
November 15, 1923
Word has been received that the son of the former
Kaiser once Crown Prince, has obtained permission to leave
November 22, 1923
This week, the last remaining vestige of the old Kaukauna
Machine Company's plant will have vanished by the familiar frame building on Main
Avenue, north of the wastewater power station.
The
Kaukauna American Legion team whipped the highly praised La Crosse city team
Sunday by the score of 25 to 3. The Legion team showed a championship
caliber.
November 29, 1923
Seventy-five years ago, many Catholics were obliged to
seek spiritual ministration at Little Chute. However, in the spring of 1869 the
seeds were sown which now returned to golden harvest. This week represents the Golden
Jubilee of the Holy Cross parish.
