Kaukauna High School's
Reed Giordana, for the second straight year, captured the scoring title in the
Fox Valley Association basketball conference, scoring 282 points in the 14-game
span of league play. Last year Giordana took the title with 290 points and
that, in addition to his sophomore year points on varsity, gives him a total of
970 points, just 33 away from the KHS all-time scoring record, which is
presently held by LeRoy Weyenberg with 1,003 points. With tournament action
still remaining, Giordana has a legitimate shot at the record, but it appears
that the Ghosts must win at least one game for him to do so, which would
provide Giordana with two games instead of one to surpass the mark. Rarely does
a single player total 30 or more points against a Kimberly team, the Ghosts'
first opponent in the tournament.
