Ground clearing
activities are commencing to the south of Kaukauna High School. Despite the
cold weather operations are continuing with trees being removed and the land
being leveled.
A ground-breaking ceremony
on the new Badger Northland Inc. plant, to be located at the corner of highways
41 and 55 in Kaukauna, has been set for 10:00 am today.
May 9, 1962
Mayor Joseph F. Bayorgeon made the first Direct Dial call from the City of Kaukauna. He dialed the area code and the exact number he wanted in New York City.
May 18, 1962
Calvin Spice today
announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Outagamie County. Spice has been a
policeman for the past 14 years, starting his career in Kaukauna
with 5 years of service.
May 23, 1962
William Rogers today announced his
candidacy for state assemblyman in the fall election. Rogers is currently
serving as fifth ward alderman in Kaukauna.

Zuelzke, Dave Van Abel, Jim Whittaker, Dave Schwalenberg, Ed Lutzow, Joe
Mayerl, Tom Hiestand and Bob Van Ellen.
May 25, 1962
Immanuel United Church
of Christ will celebrate their Diamond Anniversary this Sunday. Rev. John Scheib,
who served as pastor at the church from 1930 to 1958 will be in charge of the
10:00 worship service which will begin the day long 75th anniversary
celebration. The church was founded May 22, 1887, by the Rev. Jacob
Bollenbacher.
The Badger Boys and Girls of Kauakuan high school are: the girls atanding Miss Lindy Kemp and Miss Sara Derens. The boys are Tony Schlude and Donald Straus.
